Sephiroth EDHREC points at three Final Fantasy cards from 13 June 2025. Fabled SOLDIER is the mono-black transform commander. Fallen Hero is red-white. Planet's Heir is blue-black.

Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER costs {2}{B}. When he enters or attacks you may sacrifice another creature and draw a card. Whenever another creature dies, target opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life. The fourth time that ability resolves in a turn, he transforms into Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel.

The angel has flying. As he transforms you get an emblem: whenever a creature dies, an opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1. The front side already asks for deaths. The transform asks for four of those drains in one turn, so the list needs several creatures that can die on the same turn, not one large threat.

The other two Sephiroths

Sephiroth, Fallen Hero costs {3}{R}{W}. When he attacks you may put a cell counter on a creature. Modified creatures you control become 7/5 until end of turn. You can sacrifice a modified creature for {3} to bring him back from the graveyard tapped.

Sephiroth, Planet's Heir costs {4}{U}{B}, has vigilance, gives opposing creatures -2/-2 when he enters, and gets a +1/+1 counter whenever an opposing creature dies. EDHREC does not merge these three into one average deck. A red-white equipment pile is not a black sacrifice pile.

Does the emblem count commander damage?
