Azula EDHREC searches land on four legendary nobles from Avatar: The Last Airbender, released 21 November 2025. Fire Lord Azula is the blue, black, and red one. The other three do not share her color identity.

Four cards, four color identities

Fire Lord Azula costs {2}{U}{B}{R}. While she is attacking, the next spell you cast is copied. Firebending 2 also adds {R}{R} until end of combat. That is the version most lists treat as the spell-copy commander.

Azula, Ruthless Firebender is mono-black and costs {2}{B}. Attacks can discard a card and add experience counters, then {2}{B} pumps her and grants menace. Azula, On the Hunt is also mono-black: attacks lose 1 life and make a Clue. Azula, Cunning Usurper is blue-black. She exiles an opposing nontoken creature and a nonland graveyard card, and on your turn you may cast those cards, using any mana type.

Scryfall records the two mono-black Azulas as black identity only. Red mana from Firebending does not add red to color identity, because the red symbols sit in reminder text. A mono-black Azula deck still cannot run red cards. The red mana pays generic costs, and on Cunning Usurper it can pay for the exiled cards her ability already lets you cast.

What the EDHREC page is counting

EDHREC keeps a separate commander page per card. Fire Lord Azula's page counts decks that put that printing in the command zone. It does not average the mono-black Azulas into the same list. Open each page on its own before you copy a pile of blue instants into a black deck.

Inclusion rate on that page is how often a card shows up in public lists for that commander. It is not a rules verdict. Sol Ring will be common across colors. A red ritual is legal only with Fire Lord Azula.

Questions

Which Azula is the three-color commander?

Fire Lord Azula. Her color identity is blue, black, and red. Azula, Ruthless Firebender and Azula, On the Hunt are black. Azula, Cunning Usurper is blue and black.

Does Firebending let a black Azula deck play red cards?

No. Color identity ignores reminder text. Firebending adds red mana during combat, and that mana can pay generic costs. It does not make red cards legal in a mono-black deck.
